NFL world reacted to Carolina Panthers quarterback news.

Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield are fighting over who will start as quarterback for the Carolina Panthers.

However, it seems that the Panthers' depth at the position suffered a severe damage regardless of who earns the starting job.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport said that Matt Corral, a rookie quarterback with the Panthers, had a Lisfranc injury that would probably keep him out for the whole 2022–2023 season.

Corral exited Friday night's preseason game against the New England Patriots with what seemed to be an injury and did not come back, according to the latest information.

Even though Corral wasn't anticipated to start for the Panthers this season, it is still a significant blow for the rookie as he attempts to make a name for himself in the NFL.

Although Corral played behind both Darnold and Mayfield this season, he was not anticipated to be a starter for the Panthers, which was a disadvantage for the rookie who was trying to understand the team's playbook.

The NFL world was sorry to learn of Corral's setback, but the injury is unlikely to have a significant influence on the Panthers this season since both Mayfield and Darnold are anticipated to win the team's starting quarterback position.
